Smoking Cessation Success Rates

Over the years, smokers have used many
different methods in their attempts to quit smoking.
Here are the results, according to various studies.

COLD TURKEY
(WILLPOWER)

It usually seems like the cheapest way to quit, but after failing multiple times, smokers learn that this is the most expensive way of all.

PATCHES, GUM
MINTS

Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRT's) are expensive and "no more effective than quitting on one's own"  See Harvard Study below.

DRUGS AND CHEMICAL
SOLUTIONS

Attempting to affect the receptors of the brain, such drugs may be dangerous and may even be deadly.  They do not address the psychology of smoking.

SMOKENDERS

A comprehensive  approach to stopping smoking which resolves the Physical, Psychological, Cultural and Social aspects of the very complex smoking problem.

Studies

Since clinical trials regarding drugs and chemicals don't compare methods that don't employ drugs, there is limited data available on our drug free method.

However, here are a couple of significant studies, from respected sources, that will give you a sense of the effectiveness of SMOKENDERS versus nicotine replacement therapy.

SMOKENDERS

The crew at the famous Johns Hopkins University conducted a study of 767 smokers as to their experiences with SMOKENDERS.

They wrote, "At the time of the interview, 81% of the individuals who completed the (SMOKENDERS) program over the last three years were able to quit for some period of time... SMOKENDERS seems to work better. It's almost as if you can say, you've tried all the other methods, and often, now try SmokEnders".

NRT STUDY

Harvard School of Public Health conducted a study of the effectiveness of Nicotine Replacement Therapies.

In the study participants were asked, "... whether they had used a nicotine replacement therapy in the form of the nicotine patch, nicotine gum, nicotine inhaler, or nasal spray to help them quit, and if so, what was the longest period of time they had used the product continuously."

The study conclusion was NRT's (nicotine replacement therapies) are no more effective than quitting on one's own.
